Uganda Mission Update

Dear Friends,
I have just returned from a trip to Uganda with a team of FOL board members, friends, and supporters. The team included two physicians and two dentists, and we were able to treat over three hundred and fifty patients in two days.

We were also pleased to see that a lot has happened since our last visit:

Uganda Students Progress
When I first visited the village over a year ago, none of the children spoke or understood English. After only a few months of taking classes in our school, I was amazed to see these children communicating in English with fluency and accuracy, and this progress is demonstrated in many of the video clips from the trip.
New Facilities

New Teachers Quarters

We now have new restroom facilities up and operating, and the new teachers’ apartment building is ready for occupancy. Our focus now is to build new classrooms. Our old, primitive classroom structures were badly damaged by heavy rains, and the current structures can only temporarily serve the needs of our school. New, permanent classroom buildings are badly needed.
Farming Program

Crops growing on school farmland
The farming program is well underway, and a variety of fruits and vegetables are now being cultivated on our property. Many parents of our kids are responsible for this project.

Overall, I am happy to report that we have made remarkable progress this year. At the same time, so much more work is needed to realize our goal of building a self-sustaining community in Ndagga village.

We thank our supporters for believing in our dream and for the sacrificial giving which makes it all possible.
